STRAIN

E. coli S17: E. coli S17 have chromosomally integrated conjugal transfer functions (RP4 transfer functions). Plasmids transformed into this E. coli strain can be transferred to other cells via conjugal mating if they contain an appropriate transfer origin. Plasmid can also be purified similar to other cloning strains. The genotype of the strain is TpR SmR recA, thi, pro, hsdR-M+RP4: 2-Tc:Mu: Km Tn7.
