STRAINStrain for homogenous titration of lipid unsaturation in non-glucose media. Arabinose concentration (0.1-10uM) controls proportion of unsaturated lipids. Unsaturated fatty acid auxotroph in the absence of arabinose; must be grown with oleic acid supplement. Additional plasmid harbors GFP acrAB fusion protein under lacUV5 promoter.
